Felix Cartal – Don’t Turn on the ...

I have long been a fan of Felix Cartal. This Vancouver-native twenty-something, has been on his grind for awhile. Knowing that he primarily uses Reason (Malstrom, if you want to be even more specific) to create monster tunes such as World Class Driver & Drone
and has been in the scene just as long as electro-heavyweights MSTRKRFT, Justice, etc has gained his respect from me. He also was rocking the Ableton Live setup way before anyone knew who Skrillex was. The guy also is known to be very interactive and personable with his fans. And once more, this guy’s tunes are massive. Major points.

Anyways, Felix recently released his newest single on Dim Mak called “Don’t Turn On The Lights” which features vocals from Polina. Polina has done vocals for Kaskade as well as Steve Aoki on his upcoming album “Wonderland“.

“Don’t Turn On The Lights” is a slight divergence from Felix’s normal sound, it has a simpler, less aggressive sound to it that many purist fans may not like at first listen, however it is perfect for the college frat/dancefloor/mainstream EDM scene that is sprouting rapidly at the moment. The song, though different, is very catchy and honestly I think by now Felix deserves more widespread attention. I respect his ability to expand and create a more widely appealing sound that I personally am still content with. So, support Felix by buying his new single today! Also, peep the music video below.
